About the Parking:
Being in the heart of the historical center we don’t have a private parking, but once you have left your luggage here (we will do the communication to the police about your entrance in the traffic limited area), you can park your car:
– GARAGE (subject to payment) 2km away from us. They can come and take your car once you will be here ad they bring you back anytime for € 25,00 per 24 hours (Garage Car Valet Leonardo – via Ricasoli, 29 – http://www.parcheggiosiena.it/en/index.html ). We suggest you to reserve a place there… you can go straight there (out of the historical center) and they will bring you here.
– FREE PARKING AREAS along the walls of the Fortress (before arriving at the stadium along via Vittorio Veneto – just check the day for the cleanings of the street) (10 minutes walking from us) and on the parking of Via Bonci 4 (which is under the street and not many people parks there).
– PARKING area (subject to payment) at the STADIO (stadium) at the end of VIA DEI MILLE (€ 2,00 per hour from 7,00 to 20,00) (300-400 metres from us)
Parking of the train Station at 1,5 km from us at 2,00 euros per day and you can take a taxi to our place for about 10 euros.
If you want to reach us by car: the navigator often does not work in Siena (you can try entering Via dei Mille on the navigator, which is the last street before entering the restricted traffic area) and it is very important that you enter the restricted traffic area from the Chiesa di San Domenico gate, as it is the only permitted entrance.
For the communication of the license plate, we will enter it after your arrival, as it will be necessary to know the exact time of entry into the gate.
Directions:
To reach this part of the city coming from Rome, when you arrive in Siena, at the end of the 4-lane road, do not take the “Siena centro” directions, but keep right towards “Firenze”, thus taking the Siena ring road,
If you are coming from Florence, you will already be on the ring road.
Exit at Siena Ovest and, following the signs for “STADIO” and “other parking lots”, take Strada di Pescaia to the end where you will find a traffic light and there you will have to turn right into via Cesare Battisti. At the end of Cesare Battisti, turn left into via Montesanto, then turn right onto viale Vittorio Veneto (free parking area 10 minutes walk from us).
Continue on via dei Mille. At the end of via dei Mille (beginning of viale Curtatone) on the right, you will find the entrance to the restricted traffic area of CHIESA DI SAN DOMENICO. Once inside, take via della Sapienza, go to the end, then turn right into via delle Terme; we are at no. 76.
The train station is about 1 km from the historic center.
Once you leave the station, you can take a taxi (0039 0577 49222) which will take you to our entrance in a few minutes for about 10 euros (it’s the easiest solution);
Alternatively, on the opposite side of the station under the shopping center, you can take the first bus to the center (very frequent), ask the driver for the stop at Piazza Gramsci (or Via Tozzi) about 300 meters from us.
From the bus stop at Piazza Gramsci, walk towards Piazza Matteotti where you will see the large department stores (Oviesse), keep them on your right and continue towards Piazza del Campo, after a few meters outside Piazza Matteotti, take the downhill road on the right (at the corner with a Stefanel store), Via dei Termini; after about 80 meters, turn right into Via del Cavalletto and at the end of the descent, turn left onto Via delle Terme, just around the corner at number 76 you will find the “Antica Residenza Cicogna”.
A tip: from Rome and Florence, take the bus (respectively with the companies FLIXBUS and TIEMME) because it is direct and will take you to the center, to Piazza Gramsci 300 meters from us.
Most buses have Piazza Gramsci (or via Tozzi) as their final stop, which is about 300 meters from us; some stop at the train station (in this case, see how to reach us by train).
